other masks

this was a mask made by another person (artist) but not from our class.
i think that this person did a really good job. he/she used the elemets of art really well.
the part that i like the most out of the mask was the texture because you could really see the texture how it is silky and furry. i can do this by using painting techniques, gesso and other materials.
the colour is also really good. the colours all blend into each other and makes it stand out. the different colours makes shades on the mask. the coulours produce shadows and makes it look real and as if there is light shining on it making a shadow. this image will help me with painting mine and being able to create shadows.

animal drawing

hi its me again

this was just my mask pictures that i drew. it isn't that good.

this is my front view it came out in the picture worse than what it actually looks like.

this was my side view

and my back view

well obviously, when i construct this mask, the nose would be pointed out than the rest of the mask. the eye would be in the mask a bit and the eyebrows are to be long and go down the side of the face. the eyes would go more in the mask and the ears on the top of the head will be pointy
and thick. the head will be round, if it is possible. the colour will be similar to the picture in the painting. this what i think og doing my mask for now. : )

my animals

hey, when it was time to choose our 3 animals, we were told to pick our 3 favourite animals. my first one was:

- 1. a puppy

- 2. a kitten

- 3. a fox

I thought that a puppy was:

- cute - smart - playful
- fluffy - cheeky - energetic
- sporty - funny - learner

A cat was:

- poised - sarcastic - smart
- sly - cheeky - cute
- sleek - fast - sharp

a fox was basically like the cat:

- poised - sharp - sly
- fast - sleek - energetic
- hunters - cheeky - smart

then i realised that the animal that I liked the most was how i saw myself. that meant that i saw myself as a puppy. The 2nd favourite animal, which was the cat, was how other see me. And how I really were was a fox which was my 3rd favourite animal.

mask!!!

hey,
this was what my mask looked like in the beginning when it was on the first layer.
it looks really bad because it didn't come out right and it looked really bad then.... ^_^;
I took my face out 'cause it's really bad and embarrassing!!!!!!
any way, this is not where my mask is up to now. it looks much better i guess....
from now i need to layer it and make it really hard. by then, it will take much more shape and texture and its appearance will be much better. ( I hope )
the problem that i had while was making this was that the face started to become flat and squarish at the bottom.
i need to make the bottom more round and that would hopefully make it better.

what elements of art did Roet use to create this artwork.

1. lines 2. form 3. texture

what can you see?

well you can see two hands holding each other. they look like the same hands becuase they look really similar. they are wrinkly so they maight be old. there are a lot of hair on it so it could also be a man's hand rather than a lady's. the nails are long at the hand looks uncared and scruffy so it could be a potter's hand.

Roet has used pencil, conte and charcoal to create this artwork. She shaded the shadows and doesn't show the lines.

I think that Roet was trying to communicate frienship and sorrow at the same time. the hands trying to hold each other means friendship and trust in each other. the colours are dull and the hands isn't really holding each other and they miss, so this might mean the sorrow of not being able to hold each other and help each other out.

the measurements of the painting does not affect my opinion of the work and waht she is trying to communicate. i just say that her sorrow and emptiness is greater than what i had originally thought.

the elements of art helps express what this work is about because when you think of the elements of art, you get more depth into the artwork and you start to realise the little things that you could have missed while just looking at it.

BMW cat

A1. I can see a cat with a lot of details on it. It has a sharp face a eyes like the head lights of a car. You can only see the head and small parts of the body. It has a lot of dots at the top of the head and it gradually becomes less and less. It's got blue eyes and as you keep looking at it, the picture drags you in.

A2. the product that the BMW company is drawing attention is the lights. it is showing us that now BMW has made a car with headlights that can see in the dark.

hi this is a photo of my duck. it is upside down and i have no idea if it's good or not. we did this in Art and i pretty much enjoyed doing it. for this photo of my upside down duck, we had to first sketch the head, than we over lined it with ink on a stick than we made shadows with criss crossing lines. than i finished with Gesso which is like a thick white paint. than i just redifined my lines with the ink
